Tammy Hand is the creator of HeartBeats Club, an invigorating cardio chair exercise program designed for frail seniors.  Through her experience of providing over 2000  exercise classes in Long Term Care Homes, Adult Day Programs, and Retirement Communities in the Halton Region, she has developed a method that motivates and engages people in ways traditional exercise has not been able to do. 

She has trained front line staff how to lead this safe, easy and effective program.  HeartBeats Club has successfully been implemented at Long Term Care Homes, Adult Day Programs in The Region of Peel, Region of Waterloo, Region of Halton, Hamilton, Brantford, North Bay and London.  It has been quickly become one of the most well received and eagerly attended programs!​


She has lead breakout sessions at the annual conference of Activity Professionals of Ontario and Therapeutic Recreation Therapists of Ontario.  There she presented effective leadership techniques how to make exercise classes the most eagerly attended recreation program! 

Tammy Hand is a certified CanFit Pro Fitness Instructor Specialist and an Older Adult Fitness Specialist with a certificate in Active Aging.  In 2012 she transitioned to focusing entirely on fitness for seniors after leading Zumba Fitness classes for the general public.  She graduated with a B.A. in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo, with a specialization in Social Work.  In previous work experience, she was a professional speaker and has presented in cities across North America.
